Man arrested after Rundle Street robbery, SA

A man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting and robbing an elderly man in the CBD overnight, according to SA Police.

Police were called to Rundle Street at 1.30am on Tuesday 12 December and located the victim, a man aged in his 80s, who had been punched to the face and had his bag stolen.

The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Meanwhile, police and security officers reviewed CCTV and tracked the suspect's movements across the city. It will be alleged he walked from Rundle Street, to Hindley Street, to the Casino then east along the river to the War Memorial, where patrols caught up with him.

The 37-year-old Ottoway man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. He has been refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

The victim's belongings were recovered.
