Man arrested after shooting in Whalan

A man has been arrested after another man was shot in Sydney’s west today, NSW Police say.

About 11am (Thursday 20 September 2018), emergency services were called to Kikori Crescent, Whalan, following reports of a shooting.

A 32-year-old man was found with minor injuries to his leg and hand. He was taken to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Following further inquiries, police established a perimeter at a property in Shalvey and attempted to determine if anyone was at the residence.

About 1.30pm, a 33-year-old man was arrested after he presented at St Marys Police Station.

Inquiries continue.
