Man arrested after short pursuit in western suburbs, SA

A Glandore man will face court on several driving charges following a short police pursuit in the western suburbs overnight, according to SA Police.

Just after 1.30am, a police patrol attempted to stop a man driving a Toyota Starlet for traffic offences on Cheltenham Parade at Cheltenham, but the driver allegedly refused and it was followed for a short time through back streets of Woodville West, before the patrol lost sight of the vehicle.

Moments later, PolAir the police helicopter, which was already flying in the area, spotted the Toyota being dumped on Findon Road and driver running into a nearby home.

A police patrol attended the address and arrested a 26-year-old man from Glandore with driving to evade police, driving disqualified and driving and unregistered uninsured vehicle.

The man's car was also towed away and impounded for 28 days.

The arrested man was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

There were no injuries or damage to any vehicle in the incident.
