Man arrested, compound bow seized in Coogee

A man has been arrested and police have seized a compound bow following an incident in Sydney’s east today, NSW Police say.

Just after 12pm (Thursday 4 October 2018), emergency services were called to Carrington Road, Randwick, following reports of a man with a weapon.

Police have been told the man was firing arrows at a mobile crane and fence.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and arrested a 47-year-old man in the front yard of a home on Carrington Road.

He has been taken to Maroubra Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.

Police seized a compound bow and other items at the scene.

Any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage is urged to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
