Man arrested following act of indecency, NSW

A man will face court today after he allegedly committed an act of indecency on a train last month, NSW Police say.

About 2pm on Thursday 18 May 2017, a man was observed committing an act of indecency on a train that was travelling between Redfern and Strathfield.

The matter was reported to police who commenced investigations into the incident, including a review of CCTV footage.

About 1.40pm today, officers attached to the Police Transport Command were conducting patrols of Wentworth Avenue, Surry Hills, when they stopped and spoke to a man.

He was subsequently arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with commit act of indecency, not possess ticket and behave in an offensive manner.

The 28-year-old man was refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court tomorrow.
