Man arrested following break and enter in Inverell

Police have charged a man over an alleged break and enter in Inverell yesterday, NSW Police say.

The break and enter is alleged to have occurred between 9.40pm and 11.30pm on Monday 19 March 2018.

Officers from the New England Police District commenced an investigation into the incident and following inquiries, executed search warrants at two homes in Inverell about 2pm today (Tuesday 20 March 2018).

Police located and allegedly seized a number of items including clothing, electrical equipment, a firearm, an illicit substance believed to be methamphetamine and a vehicle.

A 44-year-old man was arrested and charged with break, enter and steal (x2), possess house breaking implements, goods in custody, possess replica firearm and drive while disqualified.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Inverell Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 21 March 2018).

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
