Man arrested following chip theft

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man in relation to the alleged theft of gaming chips from a licensed venue in Melbourne’s CBD, Victoria Police say.

It is alleged gaming chips and a phone were stolen from the Whiteman Street venue on 16 November.

A 24-year-old Newport man presented himself to Altona North Police Station this morning.

He is currently being interviewed and is expected to be charged on summons with theft-related offences.
