Man arrested following domestic-related stabbing in Auburn

A man has been arrested following an alleged domestic-related stabbing at Auburn yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just before 2pm today, two men – aged 50 and 21 – allegedly became involved in an altercation outside a home in Auburn.

During the altercation, the 50-year-old man suffered a 10cm stab wound to his cheek from a knife.

Both men entered the home and a short time later the 21-year-old allegedly assaulted the older man with the knife again, causing a small laceration to the head.

The 21-year-old man left the premises before returning a short time later.

The occupants in the home refused him entry before contacting police who attended and arrested the man.

Both men were taken to Auburn Police Station where they were assessed by NSW Ambulance Paramedics.

The 50-year-old man was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The 21-year-old man was admitted to a mental health facility for assessment.

Once released, he is expected to be charged over the incident.
