Armed Crime Squad detectives have arrested a 49 year-old man following an attempted armed robbery in Grantville on Monday (8 October), Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a man entered a bank on Bass Highway about 10.55am armed with a knife and hammer.
He approached two different bank attendants and made demands for cash before leaving empty-handed.
No one was injured during the incident.
The 49 year-old man was arrested about 5:30 pm today in Traralgon.
The investigation is ongoing.
