Man arrested following Hadfield aggravated burglary

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man following an alleged aggravated burglary in Hadfield this morning, Victoria Police say.

Investigators were called to an address on Knole Street shortly before midday after two masked men, allegedly armed with bats, forced entry to the home.

A third man was waiting nearby.

Three occupants who were home at the time fled the house and contacted police, who arrived on scene within minutes.

The two men fled the house, with one arrested in the street following a short struggle with officers.

The 32-year-old Dallas man is expected to be charged with offences including aggravated home invasion, weapons offences and resist police, and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this evening.

Police are yet to arrest the two outstanding males.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
