Man arrested following online child exploitation investigation, NSW

A man has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad.

The Sex Crimes Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) conducts ongoing investigations into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children online under Strike Force Trawler.

Following extensive investigations, strike force officers arrested a 31-year-old man on Church Street, Parramatta, about 10.20am today.

Officers conducted a search of the man and his backpack, and seized a mobile phone and a large knife.

The man was taken to Parramatta Police Station, where he is expected to be charged with online child exploitation offences.
