Man arrested following pursuit, SA

A man has been arrested overnight following a brief pursuit in Munno Parra that ended when he collided with a tree, according to SA Police.

Just before 12am an Elizabeth police patrol tried to stop a Holden Commodore on Curtis Road, but the male driver allegedly refused and it was pursued for a short distance to Light Avenue, before the driver lost control and crashed into a tree.

The man driving was immediately arrested by police.

The 24-year-old man from Smithfield was charged with a number of driving offences including engage in police pursuit, illegal use, misuse of motor vehicle, drive disqualified and fail to truly answer.

The arrested man did not apply for police bail and will appear at the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
