Man arrested following siege in Cronulla

A man has been arrested following a siege in southern Sydney today, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to a house on Taloombi Street, Cronulla about 2am today, following reports of a concern for a man’s welfare.

Officers from Miranda Local Area Command attended and spoke with a 42-year-old man who was in a garage.

Whilst speaking with the man, he allegedly made a number of threats towards police.

Officers with the assistance of police negotiators spoke with the man for several hours until he surrendered to police.

No one injured during the incident.

The man was arrested and taken to hospital for assessment.
