A man has been arrested following a stabbing at a house in St Albans last night, Victoria Police say.
The incident happened at the Fox Street address at 11pm.
Police believe an altercation took place between two men which resulted in one of the men sustaining stab wounds to his upper arm and a laceration to his ear.
The victim, a 40-year-old St Albans man, was conveyed to hospital in a serious condition.
A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently being interviewed by investigators at Sunshine Police Station
