Man arrested following stabbing- Wollongong, NSW

Police have arrested a man after a stabbing in Koonawarra, a suburb of Wollongong, last night.

Just before 9pm yesterday, emergency services were called to a home on Walbon Crescent, Koonawarra, following reports a man had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, police found a 29-year-old man with a wound to his torso.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before he was taken to Wollongong Hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His injuries are not considered life threatening.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

About 2pm today police arrested a 29-year-old man at his home. He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, NSW Police say.

He was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court tomorrow, tomorrow.
