Police have arrested a man following a fatal stabbing at Ultima, near Swan Hill, early Tuesday morning, Victoria Police say.
The incident occurred at a Gladstone Avenue address shortly before 2am.
A confrontation has occurred and 39-year-old Ultima man received a stab wound and was taken to hospital by friends however died on arrival.
A 49-year-old man was arrested in Ultima a short time later.
The Ultima man is currently assisting investigators with their enquiries.
Homicide Squad detectives will travel to Swan Hill this morning.
