Man Arrested for Auburn Station Robbery

A man will face court over an alleged robbery at a railway station in Sydney's west.

About 5:20pm on Saturday, 7 March 2026, officers from the Police Transport Command attended Auburn Railway Station following reports that a man had stolen a mobile phone from a teenage boy.

Police were told a 15-year-old boy – in company with an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy - had entered Auburn Railway Station when an unknown man approached them and demanded the younger boy's mobile phone

When he declined, the man became aggressive and allegedly threatened to stab the 15-year-old before stealing the phone from the boy before and leaving the scene.

There were no reports of injuries.

A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following an appeal for public assistance a 19-year-old man yesterday (Tuesday 11 March 2026) at 2pm attended Auburn Police Station.

Following inquiries the man was charged with robbery and refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Wednesday 11 March 2026).
