Man arrested for drug supply in Ballina

Police have arrested and charged a man with drug offences in the state’s north, NSW Police say.

About 3.30pm yesterday, officers from the Tweed/Byron Target Action Group stopped and searched a 41-year-old man in the car park of the Ballina-Byron Airport at Ballina.

Officers seized 110g of methylamphetamine and a small amount of ketamine, arresting the man and taking him to Ballina Police Station.

A search warrant was conducted at the man’s home in Byron Bay where a number of items were seized for further examination.

The man has now been charged with supply prohibited drug (greater than indictable quantity) and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Ballina Local Court on Thursday 13 July 2017.

Investigations are ongoing.
