Man arrested for stealing electricity , SA

A man has been charged over the theft of electricity totalling $54,000, according to SA Police.

Eastern Adelaide CIB detectives today arrested and charged a 35-year-old Evanston Park man with four counts of theft of electricity. It will be alleged the man tampered with electricity metres over a five-year period.

Detectives were assisted in the investigation by SA Power Network.

The arrested man was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 6 October.
