Man Arrested In Cambridge, TAS

A 26-year-old Risdon Vale man will appear in court this evening after his arrest in Cambridge earlier today, Tasmania Police say.

The man had been avoiding police for several weeks and was wanted for questioning over several matters. He was arrested at a property in Cambridge as a result of information from the public.

Detectives and uniform officers swooped on the property just before 11am, supported by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter. The man was taken into custody without incident and subsequently charged with multiple offences committed in the Greater Hobart area, including:

  • Aggravated Burglary
  • Stealing
  • Motor Vehicle Stealing
  • Evading Police
  • Disqualified Driving
  • Breach of Bail

A 26-year-old Glenorchy man was also arrested after fleeing the scene on foot but was located a short distance away.  He was charged in respect to an unrelated offence and bailed to appear at a later date.
