Man arrested in Maidstone following Wodonga incidents

Police arrested a man in Maidstone on Tuesday following a number of incidents in Wodonga last month, Victoria Police say.

The 25-year-old man was wanted on outstanding warrants and a police vehicle was damaged during an attempted arrest on 25 January in East Wodonga.

Police from the Wodonga Divisional Response Unit, Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit and Altona North Divisional Response Unit executed a warrant at a property on Crefden Street in Maidstone on 14 February.

The man was arrested at the property without incident.

A search of the house also uncovered a number of items including a significant amount of dried cannabis, cash, human growth hormone, false number plates, illegal fireworks, designer handbags and mobile phones.

He has been charged with traffick drug of dependence, knowingly deal proceeds of crime, without approval store unauthorised explosive and possess anabolic steroids.

The man appeared at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court that day and was remanded to appear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on 14 March.

A second search warrant was also executed in Paterson Avenue, Baranduda today where further items connected with the investigation were seized.
