Man Arrested in South Granville Police Operation

A man has been arrested following a police operation in South Granville yesterday evening.

About 4pm yesterday (Monday 26 June 2023) police attempted to execute an arrest warrant on a 40-year-old man at a residence on Brussels Street, South Granville.

The man allegedly barricaded himself within the residence to prevent officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command from executing the arrest warrant.

With assistance from specialist officers and the dog unit, police were able to gain entry to the residence where they arrested the 40-year-old man.

During the operation the man allegedly threatened police with a nail gun.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
