Man arrested in stolen car at Belair, SA

An elderly lady’s prayers were answered this morning after police recovered her car that was stolen as she attended church at Brighton, according to SA Police.

The woman reported her car stolen just after 9am on Sunday 5 February after parking it off Brighton Road.

About half an hour later, patrols spotted the stolen white Hyundai sedan travelling south on Fullarton Road at Netherby.

The stolen car was followed along Old Belair Road before police stopped it on James Road, Belair and the driver was arrested without incident.

A 50-year-old man from West Croydon was charged with illegal use, theft and driving unlicenced. The man was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.
