Elizabeth Detectives have arrested a man for attempt murder after a woman was stabbed at a Salisbury Downs house earlier tonight, according to SA Police.
Just after 8pm police and ambulance crews attended a house on Martins Road, a woman was treated at the scene and then rushed to the Royal Hospital in a critical condition where she has undergone emergency surgery.
Police patrols cordoned off the house and negotiated with man for sometime before STAR group officers entered the house just before 10.30pm and arrested the man without incident.
The 40-year-old man from Salisbury Downs was charged with attempt murder and will be refused police bail until he appears in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
Both the man and woman are known to each other.
