Man arrested over 13 petrol drive-offs, SA

State Tactical Response Group officers arrested a man wanted over a string of theft, traffic and other matters yesterday, according to SA Police.

About 10.45am on Thursday 9 August, police from State Tactical Response Group stopped a vehicle on Salisbury Highway, Dry Creek and arrested the driver.

The 45-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with 13 counts of making off without payment (petrol drive-offs), four counts of theft, illegal use, drive unlicensed, aggravated police pursuit, failing to stop at the scene of a crash and breach of bail.

The offending is alleged to have occurred between March and August. The pursuit occurred on 6 August at West Hindmarsh and the collision was a separate incident on Main North Road, Greenfields yesterday.

He was further charged with going equipped to commit offences after being found in possession of various implements.

The arrested man was refused police bail and appeared in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
