Man arrested over Brooklyn Park fires, SA

A man has been arrested for arson following a series of bin fires in Brooklyn Park this morning, according to SA Police.

About 2.15am on Thursday 9 March police and fire crews were called to Lewis Street following reports of a fire. When crews arrived they found three wheelie bins in the street had been set alight.

Police were then alerted to several other bin fires in Thanet Street, Marjoran Place and Marshall Terrace, with a total of seven bins destroyed.

Patrols searched the area and located a man in nearby Marshall Terrace who was subsequently arrested over the fires.

A 24-year-old man from Elizabeth Downs was charged with arson and refused police bail. He will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
