Man arrested over hotel break-in at Gawler, SA

A man has been arrested with police searching for two others, following a break-in at a Gawler hotel overnight, according to SA Police.

Just before 11pm on Sunday 13 May, Gawler patrols were called to a Murray Street hotel following reports of intruders on the roof.

On arrival, the publican had detained a man, after three men had pushed a dumpster up against the building with entry gained via second storey window.

Two others possibly teenage boys ran off with patrols searching the area but unable to locate them.

The 18-year-old man from Gawler has been arrested and charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft after they stole bottles of alcohol and attempted to steal the hotel till.

The man has been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
