Police have arrested a man following the investigation into a Port Adelaide house fire early this morning, according to SA Police.
At 4.30am on Friday 28 July police and fire crews responded to reports of a house fire on Leadenhall Street.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze but not before substantial damage was caused to the home.
The two occupants of the home were not injured as a result of the fire.
Police will allege that there was an altercation between the man and woman prior to the blaze, resulting in the woman sustaining a shoulder injury.
Detectives from the Western Adelaide CIB have arrested a 35-year-old man from Port Adelaide with arson and assault. The man was refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
