Man arrested over pursuit earlier this month at Edwardstown, SA

The driver of a stolen 4WD that was involved in a police pursuit and crash at Edwardstown earlier this month has been arrested, according to SA Police.

Just before midnight on Saturday 6 October, a police patrol was on Angus Avenue when the saw a silver Nissan ute travelling east with a right rear flat tyre.

The patrol activated the emergency flashing lights, but the vehicle failed to stop and it was followed east on Angus Avenue to the train line, where the driver lost control and hit a stobie pole then a parked car.

The two occupants of the car ran from the vehicle, a passenger was quickly arrested, but the driver escaped from the area.

The 17-year-old boy from Edwardstown who was passenger in the car was arrested and charged with illegal use.

Yesterday (Wednesday 17 October ) Police investigating the pursuit from the State Tactical Response located and arrested and charged an 18-year-old man from Seacombe Gardens with illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving dangerously to evade police and theft.

He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

No other persons are being sought over the incident.
