Man assaulted during aggravated burglary at Warragul

Baw Baw Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance as they investigate an aggravated burglary in Warragul which left an older man unconscious.

Investigators have been told two or three unknown men broke into a residential address on Tarago Court around 7.10pm on 3 September.

The offenders approached a 90-year-old occupant and made demands for money before assaulting him and knocking him unconscious.

The house was ransacked, and it is unknown what has been stolen at this stage.

The male victim was transported to hospital and remains in a stable condition.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the time to come forward.
