Man assaulted during break-in at Goolwa South, South Australia

Police are investigating a break-in at a Goolwa South home where an elderly man was assaulted early this morning.

Just after 2.10am, Tuesday 25 February, police were called to Heinicke Avenue after reports of a break-in.

The victim woke to a man in his kitchen, he confronted the suspect before being punched in the face several times. The suspect ran from the house heading towards a nearby reserve where items were located from the victims home.

SA Ambulance Officers conveyed the victim to the Flinders Medical Centre for treatment of serious facial injuries.

The suspect is described as about 182cm tall with a slim build.
