Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted during a home invasion in the state's northeast.
About 5.15am on Saturday (9 January 2021), five men forced entry to a home on Jill Street, South Tamworth, and confronted the occupants.
It is alleged the men assaulted a 25-year-old man before he managed to flee the house with his four-year-old child.
The group then assaulted two other occupants before leaving the scene.
Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended a short time later and established a crime scene.
The 25-year-old man was taken to Tamworth Hospital for treatment to minor injuries and has since been released.
It is believed the group was known to him.
Investigations continue.
