Man assaulted in home invasion in Annangrove

Police are investigating a home invasion which occurred in Sydney’s North West last night.

About 8.20pm today, a 54-year-old woman arrived at her home on Lillian Road, Annangrove, and while she was walking through the door she was grabbed from behind by two men in balaclavas who forced her inside, NSW Police say.

Once inside they woke the woman’s 73-year-old husband and made demands for cash and other property.

While doing so they threatened the couple with a long knife or machete.

An alarm was activated and one of the men punched the 73-year-old man to the face before both offenders ran from the home with no proceeds.

Police from The Hills Local Area Command and the Dog Squad attended however the men could not be located.

A crime scene was established which was examined by forensic specialists.

The male victim was taken to Westmead Hospital for observation and scans.

The two offenders have only been described as wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.
