Man assaulted - Kincumber, Central Coast, NSW

Police are seeking public assistance after a man was assaulted on the Central Coast earlier this week, NSW Police say.

Police were told about 3.40pm on Tuesday yesterday, a 23-year-old man was walking west along Scenic Road, Kincumber.

A maroon coloured car – possibly a Mitsubishi Magna sedan with red "P" plates – drove past, did a u-turn and stopped beside him. The front seat passenger became aggressive towards the man and hit the man on the head with a stick.

The passenger got back into the car, which drove off and was last seen turning into Empire Bay Drive.

The 23-year-old man presented himself to Gosford Hospital where he received several stitches to his head.

Police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command have commenced investigations into the incident.

Officers would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 18 with a thin build and brown curly hair.

He was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, shorts and white joggers.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Gosford Police or Crime Stoppers.
