Man assaulted, police probe robbery in Armidale

Police are appealing for information after a robbery in the state’s Northern Tablelands at the weekend, NSW Police say.

About 11.30pm on Saturday 4 February 2017, a 48-year-old man was found unconscious on Kentucky Street, Armidale.

Police have been told he was walking on Kennedy Street when he was approached by two males who continued walking with him, before assaulting him and stealing cash from his wallet.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Officers from New England Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Police would like to speak to two males who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first male is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged about 17, with dark curly shoulder length hair. He was seen wearing a black mesh singlet with the number 96 on the front, and black shorts with white stripes.

The second male is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged about 13, wearing a white singlet, with sandy coloured hair.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
