Man assaulted, robbed - Ultimo

Inquiries are underway after a man was assaulted and robbed in an Ultimo unit earlier this week.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command commenced an investigation after a man was taken to hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics about 10.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 2 September 2020).

The man has told police he was at his home on Macarthur Street between 7pm and 8pm on Tuesday (1 September 2020), when a man forced his way into the unit and assaulted him.

The 48-year-old resident says the man demanded money before knocking him out. It's believed a jar of coins was stolen.

He alerted emergency services last night and is now undergoing treatment in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for facial fractures.

A crime scene has been established.
