A 33-year-old Flowerdale man is assisting police following a request for assistance in relation to a crash involving an ambulance from Ambulance Tasmania and another vehicle early this morning, Tasmania Police say.
About 7:40am police received a call from the man who believed he may be the other driver involved in the hit and run at Somerset.
After providing a statement, the man will be issued with a summons to appear in the Burnie Magistrate Court at a later date.
The police investigation is ongoing and anyone who witnessed the crash or has CCTV footage is asked to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
