Man carjacked in Blacktown

Police are investigating after a man was assaulted during a carjacking at Blacktown overnight, NSW Police say.

About 9.15pm today, a 22-year-old man was parking his car underneath a unit complex on Third Avenue, when he was approached by three men who demanded cash and his wallet.

Police were told the men assaulted him and took his mobile phone, wallet and car, a blue Honda Accord with NSW registration AQM94M.

The car was damaged as it left the car park and lost its front bumper.

The Honda was later involved in several pursuits in the area which were terminated for public safety reasons.

The 22-year-old man received medical treatment for a non-life threatening head injury following the incident.

Police from Blacktown Local Area Command are investigating and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
