Man caught at 80km/h over speed limit in state's north west, NSW

A man has been issued an infringement notice after he was caught allegedly speeding 80km/h over the speed limit in the state’s north west yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just after 11.30pm yesterday, officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, Barwon, were undertaking traffic enforcement duties along Ugoa Street, Narrabri.

Police will allege a 24-year-old man was detected driving a car west along the 50km/h-marked road at 120km/hr.

The man stopped on police direction and returned a negative roadside breath test.

He was issued a licence suspension notice and a traffic infringement notice for exceed speed over 45km/h, which carries a penalty of $2306.
