Man Charged After $140k Dubbo Break-In Theft

A man will face court charged after more than $140k in cash was allegedly stolen during a break and enter in the state's west yesterday.

On Monday 18 August 2025, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation following reports of an alleged break and enter at a licensed premises on Fitzroy Street, Dubbo.

Police were told an unknown man forced entry into the premises about 1.50am and allegedly stole about $140k in cash before leaving the scene.

A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 6pm yesterday (Tuesday 19 August 2025), detectives arrested a 35-year-old man at a home on Targa Avenue, Dubbo where they allegedly located and seized an amount of cash.

He was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with break and enter house etc steal value more than $60,000.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 1 October 2025.
