A man has been charged with large-scale drug supply following the seizure of $2.4 million worth of methylamphetamine in Sydney's south west.
In April this year, Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives began investigating the alleged criminal activity of a 32-year-old man.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives seized a Jeep SUV on Arbutus Street, Canley Heights, for forensic examination.
During a search of the vehicle, police located 24kg of methylamphetamine and about $7500 cash.
The total estimated street value of the drugs is approximately $2.4 million.
Following further inquiries, about 5.35pm yesterday (Wednesday 10 September 2025), Australian Federal Police arrested a 32-year-old man at Sydney Airport.
Officers seized $8500 cash seized and a mobile phone that were allegedly in his possession.
Following the man's arrest, detectives – with assistance from officers attached to the Public Order and Riot Squad - also executed a search warrant at a house on Arbutus Street, Canley Heights, where a hard drive was seized.
The man was taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of deal with property proceeds of crime and supply prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity.
He appeared before Bail Division Court 7 today (Thursday 11 September 2025), where he was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 6 November 2025.
