Man charged after armed robbery in Erskineville

Police have charged a man after an alleged armed robbery at a licensed premises at Erskineville earlier this month, NSW Police say.

Just before 12am (3 February 2017), two men wearing dark clothing and masks entered the licensed premises on Erskineville Road. One man was armed with a firearm.

Police have been told the armed man allegedly threatened staff, before taking cash.

Both men were last seen on Septimus Street.

There were no shots fired during the robbery and there were no reports of injury.

Shortly before 11am on Tuesday 21 February 2017 officers attached to the Metropolitan Robbery Unit arrested a 31-year-old man on Mountain Street, Ultimo.

He was taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with robbery whilst armed with dangerous weapon. He was also charged with virtue of revocation arrest warrant.

The man was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court via audio video link today (Wednesday 22 February 2017.
