Man charged after assault in Bathurst

A 29-year-old man will face court charged with assault offences in Bathurst, NSW Police say.

On Sunday 15 January 2017, following a report, officers from Chifley Local Area Command commenced investigations into an alleged sexual assault.

yesterday two women attended a home on Culnane Place, Kelso and met a 29-year-old man.

An altercation allegedly ensued and the man punched a 41-year-old woman, she received minor injuries.

The two women fled the area.

A short time later, a man allegedly forcibly entered a home on Gilmour Street, Kelso and dragged a 21-year-old woman into his car.

After driving around the Kelso area for 30 minutes, he drove the woman to Bathurst Police Station where she reported the incident to police and he was arrested.

Police will allege the two women and the 29-year-old man were known to each other.

He was charged with sexual assault, enter dwelling commit serious indictable offence (x2), detain for advantage, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (x2), malicious damage (x2) and common assault.

He was bail refused to appear at Bathurst Local Court today.
