A man will face court after the body of a man was located in the state's west last month.
Just after 8am on Monday 13 October 2025, emergency services were called to a home on Markham Street, Armidale, following reports of a concern for welfare.
On arrival, police located the body of a 78-year-old man.
A 25-year-old man – who lives at the home – was taken to a hospital for further assessment.
A crime scene was established and officers attached to New England Police District, with the assistance of the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, commenced an investigation under Strike Force Kastelic.
Following inquiries, about 8.10am today (Wednesday 26 November 2025), strike force detectives arrested the 25-year-old man in Armidale.
He was taken to Armidale Police Station where he was charged with murder.
He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 5 today (Wednesday 26 November 2025).
