Man charged after bus driver allegedly attacked with knife in Blacktown

A man has been charged after he allegedly attacked a bus driver with a knife at Blacktown.

Emergency services were called to Blacktown Railway Station about 1.30pm (Saturday 12 January 2019), where they found a male bus driver, aged in his 30s, with a cut to his ear.

It's alleged an 18-year-old male passenger attacked the driver with a knife, before fleeing on foot.

The driver was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command attended, established a crime scene and launched an investigation.

A short time later the 18-year-old man, from Whalan, presented himself at Blacktown Hospital.

He was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station, where he was charged with malicious wounding with intent.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Sunday 13 January 2019).
