Man charged after domestic violence incident in Yagoona

A woman has been injured and a man charged after a domestic-related incident in Yagoona, NSW Police say

Just after 3pm yesterday (Thursday 18 January 2018), a 38-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were in a vehicle stopped at a service station at the intersection of Rookwood and Brunker roads, Yagoona.

The man allegedly punched the woman in the face multiple times.

Two male passers-by witnessed the altercation. One of the men went to the assistance of the woman, while the other man called police.

The man allegedly assaulted one of the other men and got back into the vehicle, before driving away with the woman against her will.

Following inquiries, a 38-year-old man was arrested at a home on Bowden Boulevard, where he was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station.

He was charged with detain person for advantage cause actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.

The man was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Friday 19 January 2018).
