Man charged after drugs and weapons located in Dubbo

A man has been charged with drug and weapon offences after a vehicle stop in Dubbo, NSW Police say.

At 4.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 27 December 2017), police stopped a 47-year-old man on Wheelers Lane, Dubbo, after he was spotted not wearing his seatbelt while driving.

During the vehicle stop, police developed cause to search his vehicle, during which they allegedly located methyl amphetamine and cash.

The man was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

Following this, police attended the man’s home on Page Avenue, Dubbo, and commenced a search.

During the search, officers allegedly located more methyl amphetamine, seven electronic control devices, four improvised explosive devices, and allegedly stolen property, including a fridge, power tools and jewellery.

The man was charged with possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit (x7), possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug indictable quantity, possess or use a military-style weapon without permit, and goods suspected stolen in/on premises.

He is refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Thursday 28 December 2017).
