Man charged after firearms stolen during break-in in Dubbo

A man has been charged following an aggravated break-in at home in Dubbo yesterday, during which firearms were stolen., NSW Police say

About 12.15am yesterday, several males entered a property on Englewood Drive, and stole a cabinet containing four firearms, cash and documents.

Officers from Orana Local Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, about 3.15am, police observed a vehicle in Cobra Street, Dubbo.

It stopped in Hopetoun Street and four people left the vehicle and fled.

During a search of the car police located and seized four firearms and ammunition, confirmed as stolen from the earlier break-in.

A 21-year-old man was arrested nearby and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated break, enter and steal (in company) and possess prohibited firearm.

The man was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today.

Inquiries are ongoing.
