Man Charged After Gate Crash, Resisting Arrest in Woollahra

A man has been charged after allegedly trespassing and ramming through a gate in Sydney's eastern suburbs today.

About 8am today (Monday 1 September 2025), police were called to a premises on Fullerton Street, Woollahra, to assist the Australian Federal Police and Consular Officials, following reports an unauthorised vehicle had stopped in the driveway.

Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and were told a man parked his SUV vehicle at the location, before allegedly jumping the fence and entering the grounds of the premises before returning to the vehicle.

Police attempted to speak to the 39-year-old man sitting inside the SUV, who allegedly accelerated the vehicle – ramming the front gate of the property – causing significant damage.

The man was removed from his vehicle by police, before being arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

Two constables – aged 22 and 25 – sustained minor injuries and were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene.

There were no other reports of injuries.

A crime scene and an exclusion zone were established and investigations commenced.

The vehicle was seized for forensic examination.

The 39-year-old man was charged with:

- Enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse

- Use etc offensive weapon to prevent police investigation

- Three counts of destroy or damage property

- Three counts Hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty

- Custody of knife in public place

- Possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Local Court - Court 6, tomorrow (Tuesday 2 September 2025).
