A man has been charged after a girl was hit by a dirt bike in Rosemeadow earlier this week.
Emergency services were called to a park on Copperfield Drive about 5.45pm Thursday (10 July 2025), after reports a nine-year-old girl was struck by a dirt bike.
Police were told a man was riding what is alleged to be an unregistered dirt bike across a sporting field, when the girl was struck. The rider allegedly failed to stop and left the scene.
The child was treated for facial injuries by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before she was taken to The Children's Hospital at Westmead in a serious condition.
Officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command established crime scene and specialist police attached to the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, police arrested an 18-year-old man at a home in Ambarvale about 7.15pm yesterday (Friday 11 July 2025).
He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner danger, cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle, and fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court later today (Saturday 12 July 2025).
A dirt bike was located at the home and has been seized for forensic examination.
